Filippo di ser Brunelleschi

Filippo Brunelleschi (1377 – April 15, 1446) was a leading figure of the Florentine Renaissance. Brunelleschi is most noted for his design of the dome on the Florence Cathedral. While implementing this design, Brunelleschi received the first patent.

Brunelleschi is also credited for the first picture drawn using the technique of Visual Perspective. Wikipedia gives the date of 1415. I've seen several other dates for this discovery.

It is possible that the Greeks and Romans knew the technique.
