Energy Policy

Energy is currently a primary limiting factor to prosperity in the world. The United States has a wicked dependency on oil, unfortunately, our political system has managed to stifle the development of alternative fuels.

This page will provide an index to my thoughts on this perplexing problem.

• Oiling the Eealth Envy Engine (added 2008-06-11 by kd) I contend that Barack Obama's plan for taxing the profits of oil companies is as short sighted as McCain's Fuel Tax Vacation. It seems geared primarily toward feeding wealth envy.
• Big Oil is Too Big (added 2008-06-11 by kd) I argue that alternative fuel is best done on a small scale and that we should discourage big oil from investing in alternative fuels. They should pay their profits as dividends and investors invest in alternative energy.
• Energy Gimmicks (added 2008-06-25 by kd) I point out that there is gimmickery in both McCain's and Obama's energy policies. I contend that spending $150B on energy will actually increase our collective consumption of energy.
• Solar Energy Freeze (added 2008-06-28 by kd) I applaud the Bush Administration for the Solar Energy Freeze.
